William Paul Bill Fischer

Of Allison Park, on Friday, December 29, 2017, Mr. Fischer was the beloved husband of the late Thelma J. Castello Fischer; father of Karen Dukes, Mary Jo Yerkins (Marte), William Fischer (late Marcia & Jeannie), Paul Fischer (Graceann), Dennis Fischer (Linda), Robert Fischer (late Anj), David Fischer (Toni); son of the late Edward and Mary Callahan Fischer; brother of Earl Fischer (late Mary Kay), Betty Bruner (late Harry), June Robinson (late Tom), Claire Fischer, Jackie Fischer (Marge), and the late Edward Fischer, Peggy Owens (late Dave), James Fischer; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Bill took great pleasure in regaling his family with stories about growing up during the Great Depression and serving aboard the USS Independence during WWII. He especially enjoyed woodworking, held a lifelong passion for baseball, and relished reading books about history. But he especially loved his wife of 75 years, Thelma.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, January 10th from 3:30-6 PM at Presbyterian SeniorCare, Oakmont. Arrangements made by Perman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 923 Saxonburg Blvd. at Rte. 8, Shaler Twp.
