William J. Doc Doyle

Age 64, on Friday, October 21, 2016 at his home in Glenshaw PA of natural causes. He was born on January 26, 1952 to William G. Doyle and the late Rita Kirner Doyle. Bill earned his Ph.D. in Physical Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1977. He was a tenured full professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, University of Pittsburgh and the Director of ENT Research Laboratory, Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh. He was a world renowned researcher in ear, nose and throat, Eustachian tube function and middle ear disease.
He married Ronna Cullen on February 23, 1984 and they have 3 children, Allison Gremba, Sean Cullen Doyle and Brendan Cullen Doyle and 1 granddaughter, Hailey Ann Doyle. He is survived by his father, William George Doyle and his siblings, Susan Kemp, Timothy, Patrick and Colin Doyle. He was predeceased by his step-mother Ruth Raymond Doyle. Bill loved opera, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and the Doors. He also enjoyed writing poetry and driving fast.
Celebrate Docs life with his family at a Memorial Service on Monday from 1-3 PM at Perman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 923 Saxonburg Blvd at Rt. 8, Shaler Twp. Also, a Memorial Wake on Monday from 5-8 PM at Peter's Pub, 116 Oakland Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
