Marion E. Sauers

Marion Elizabeth Sauers died on Friday, March 21, 2025. Beloved wife of 52 years of the late D. Paul Sauers; mother of Paul Sauers (Kathleen Ganster), Kenneth Sauers, Laura Handlow (Robert); grandmother of Amy Cooper (James), Victor Emanuele, Nicholas Emanuele, Christina Rosnick (Eric), Elizabeth Sauers, Vincent DeVito (Sylvia); great-grandmother of Vincent DeVito Jr., Grace Cooper, Ruth Cooper, Hailey Rosnick, Charlotte Rosnick; bonus grandmother of seven; bonus great-grandmother of ten.

After a difficult childhood due to the death of her father during WWII, her number one wish for her life was to have a happy, stable and loving family. She married the love of her life at age 17. While still raising three children, she attended night classes followed by acceptance into the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Pharmacy. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Baccalaureate of Pharmacy along with six individual awards, one a full scholarship for graduate school. She continued her education and received a Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) in Biochemical Pharmacology. She taught for a few years in the University’s graduate school and had a long career as a pharmacist. No matter how hard she was working or how difficult any day was, she always put her family first. She did the worrying for everyone.

Celebrate Mrs. Sauers’s life with her family on Monday from 3-7 PM at PERMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 923 Saxonburg Blvd. where Services will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM. The family respectfully suggests donations be made to your favorite charity.
