Frances "Fran" Culhane

Age 66, of Shaler Twp., passed away on February 7, 2023. Fran was the beloved wife of Michael Culhane for 48 years and is survived by her son Michael Culhane II (Mandi), daughter Erin Yap (Mervin) and the light of her life, grandson Alex Yap. She was sister to Eileen Schmitt (Dave), Marty Masterino and the late Barb Majors, Bob Masterino, and Charlie Eisenberg. Fran had an impeccable work ethic, while also devoting her life to her children. Her wisdom and love will live on in her kids whom she taught to be strong, kind, independent and that achievements were secondary to “always doing your best.” Her friends and neighbors knew her for her sense of humor, no nonsense attitude, and delicious baking and cooking. She enjoyed her four-letter words as much as she loved dogs. Fran found companionship in her dog, Lena, who was always by her side. Fran could often be found in the peacefulness of her backyard, which became home to her own personal dog park where neighbors would stop for coffee, company and dog treats – visits she always looked forward to. Fran will be missed dearly, and her presence and unconditional love will be with us always.

Celebrate Fran’s life with her family on Monday, Feb 13th from 2-8 PM at PERMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Shaler Twp. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Name of Jesus on Tuesday, Feb 14th at 10:30 AM.
