Age 75, of Cheswick, on Friday, September 9, 2022. Mr. Cook was the beloved husband of the late Karen L. Cook; father of Christine Kiss (Nick), David Cook Jr. (Jamie); son of the late James and Violet Cook; brother of James Cook, and the late Jane Luft (Cliff), Eleanor Cook, Bud Cook (Violet); and grandfather of Tyler, Joshua and Hannah Kiss.
Dave was a machinist with Papercraft and Matthews Corp. for over 20 years. He left work as a machinist to start his own welding business, Dave’s Welding. In addition to welding any type of metal, he refinished many antique cars for his customers. He was known to be very precise in his work; If he could not find a replacement part, he made a machine to make the part. He had a huge smile that lit up a room, and was known to be a practical joker, always left a tip (Plant your corn early), and loved his wife of 55 years.
He enjoyed years of camping in Tionesta with his family and close friends. He also enjoyed many trips to Maryland to visit his oldest brother and family, and later spent time with his grandkids on family vacations to Ocean City where his favorite place was “Sandy Chicken.”
All that knew him, will remember his kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need, his ability to fix anything on a car, his gift of storytelling, and that he was just a great man who left this world too soon.
