Longtime resident of Indianola passed away due to recent illness.
He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and mushroom foraging. Was known for his strong work ethic and he had a great sense of humor. He loved gardening and making his own organic gardening products. He enjoyed baking as much as gardening. He was known for his Puska bread, and he loved our family tradition of making sauerkraut. Most of all he loved spending time with his two boys and grandchildren. They were the light of his life.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Stephen and Virginia Marutiak; brother, James Marutiak.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; two children, Robert Marutiak (Nicole), Justin Marutiak (Ashley); grandchildren, Lucas, David and Reed; siblings, Beverly Wallace, William Marutiak, Barbara Evans, and a beautiful amazing multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in May. Please check back for further details later. Arrangements made by Perman Funeral Home. The family respectfully suggests donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, https://secure.pva.org.
Service will be held at a future date
