Of O’Hara Twp., on April 23, 2024, Mr. Hejnosz was the beloved husband of 66 years of Margaret J. “Peggy” (Larbig) Hejnosz; father of Nora A. Haley (Ken); son of the late Jacob and Anna (Skocz) Hejnosz; brother of the late George Hanes (surv. Catherine), Shirley Gruzewski (late Casimir); grandfather of Michael Haley (Carolyn), Alicia Vogtsberger (Jay); great-grandfather of Cohan Vogtsberger, Emma Haley; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He graduated from Connelley Vocational High School in 1950. He served in the US Army, in Korea for three years. He retired from MSA in 1997. He died the way he lived, with quiet dignity. He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, growing vegetables in his garden and especially spending time with his family. For many years, pappy provided his grandchildren with pumpkins for Halloween. He could fix almost anything. If he couldn’t find the part, he’d make it. We know he’s at rest now with his parents, brother, sister, and all those that passed before him.
Thanks to the staff of Suncrest Hospice and North Hills Nursing and Rehab for their care and compassion.
Celebrate Mr. Hejnosz’s life with his family on Sunday from 3-7 PM at PERMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Shaler Twp. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Christ the King Parish, St. Joseph Church, O’Hara Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul, St. Joseph Church 342 Dorseyville Rd., Pittsburgh PA 15215.
