Charles "Chuck" Martier

Of Shaler Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 11, 2022. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania June 6, 1934 to Raymond and Elva Martier, Charles “Chuck”, 88, was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of faith and loved by all who knew him.

Chuck’s greatest accomplishment was the family he created with Katherine Kost Martier, his beautiful wife of 67 years. He is survived by Katherine and their six children, Doug (Laura), Diane, Danny (Laura), Doreen, Drew (Christine) and Denise ( Michael). He was also “Pappy” to 14 grandchildren; Joshua, Lindsay, Anthony, Lucy (Ariana), Johnny (Maggie), Nick, Jessie, Emma, Alec, Domenic, Olivia, Max, Noah and Mia and great grandchild, Fields. Special partners include Jimmy, Andrew, Allie and Jordan. He also leaves behind beloved, fun loving cousins, Irene, Richard, Angela, Nancy and Joe.

Chuck was also a passionate and devoted piano teacher for most of his adult life, guiding and mentoring students young and old into his final years. Although he retired from a career with Port Authority, his heart was always with teaching where he impacted hundreds of students' lives. Chuck was a friend to everyone he met. He loved spending his summers on the Outer Banks with family where you could find him at his favorite place, the beach.

Celebrate Chuck’s life, the extraordinary Husband, Father, “Pappy”, Family Member and Friend, with his family at a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Glenshaw on Saturday, November 19 at 10 AM.
